My Philosophy
I believe every body has it's own wisdom to find authentic healing. My goal is to help guide you into your body and tap into that wisdom. By doing so, restrictions in the tissue are released, allowing the space your body needs to heal. The body just needs a little guidance and encouragement to break holding patterns and find a new way of being. I truly believe we all have unlimited potential; it's just a matter of tapping into it.

All healing is release.

My Story

Ever since I was young I've wanted to help people, but was unsure of my path to do that until I discovered myofascial release. I originally wanted to be a nurse, following in my lovely mother's footsteps, but after pondering it for a good while, it didn't seem right for me. In 2009, while living in Austin, Texas, I went to massage school and learned Swedish and deep tissue massage. To be honest, it wore me out. While I still love a good relaxing traditional massage, I felt that it wasn't getting to the root of healing of people's aches and pains. People kept coming back to me with the same issues, over and over. I had heard the term "myofascial release (MFR)" here and there for years, but didn't look into it much. It wasn't until I stumbled upon a John Barnes seminar that things started to really click for me about how the way our magnificent bodies work. While learning the techniques taught at this seminar, I had many realizations, not only about fascia (which has not been properly talked about in a lot of medical fields, including massage), but about the mind-body connection that fascia is a conduit for. I knew after this seminar that using myofascial release would be an integral part of my path - for my own continued healing and for others.

My own journey of healing and finding this new way of living has been years in the making, and as with everything in life, is still in process. Never in my life have I felt the way I do about "work" like I do now. There is a passion ignited in me, and I would love to share it with others as much as I can.

I also wanted to share some things I do in the other parts of my life. Meditation has been one of the most transformative practices for me, so I love to spend time doing that. The past few years I have been practicing Dr. Joe Dispenza's meditations, and they have changed my life incredibly. My business name is inspired by one of his meditations, called "Tuning into New Potentials." Hiking in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains with my wife, Lauren, is another lovely pastime. Lauren and I love hanging out and cuddling with our two sweet cats, Charlotte and Kali, and cooking and making music! Lastly, being with community is a huge part of life. I have found that for me, community and connection are one of the biggest healing aspects of life!
With the John Barnes MFR Approach, I have completed Myofascial Release Levels 1 & 2, Myofascial Unwinding, Advanced Myofascial Unwinding and Myofascial Mobilization, with many more to come in the future!
